"Scrap Wrap" for Capitol Box, 2014

Location: 12th and Q Streets, Sacramento, CA

In thinking about a design to encase one of the many utility boxes dotting Sacramento's grid, I envisioned electricity fusing the box with magnetic energy. Thus charged, it sucks up Sacramento's urban vernacular – scraps of paper, twiggy bits dropped from trees, and wind-skipping straws its vagrant particles of life snatched like metal filings to wrap the utility box in the boogie-woogie patois of downtown streets.
